Missing config files
« on: February 23, 2010, 10:58:15 AM »
Helped a friend download game to her cpu the other day; game ran fine. She brings her cpu back today & now when entering game, it says her spit16 config file is missing & it cannot load the stick setup (i think). Is there a way to recover or replace these files?

Sounds like a stick profile or some other external software issue associated with the stick. I do not beleive that error message is coming from the game itself.

If it is a game error message, I need to exact wording.

one file if going online is: settings/login.cfg                       Another file when offline is the spit16.pwl file. Could it be she is not running as administrator?

That file will not exist until a successful login is done.  The game actually does not care if it is there or not.  Any error message about that file is not coming from the game.

If the game is installed in the "Program Files" folder in a Vista or Windows 7 computer with UAC enabled, then all bets are off.  The game files will be put in some virtual store.  This is why we moved the game out of "Program Files".

Figured it out. She was signed in under her guest profile in Vista & not the main profile. Never knew that would make a difference.
