Night fighters!!
« on: February 12, 2001, 07:36:00 PM »

If night was introduced (hopefully it will be) a new assortment night fighters could be introduced....

heres a list that would surely make me happy...

Mosquito NF MkXII
Heinkel He-219 A5/R1
Fw190 A6/R11 "wilde sau"
Junkers Ju88 "gun nosed/radar variant" (i forgot the official variant name)
Junkers Ju188 A-3
Me-262 (two seat night variant)*
P61 black widow
F4U (radar equipped)
F6F (radar eqipped)

*perk aircraft

at night turn off radar and icons, making radar only viewable from tower and radar equipped aircraft.

feel free to comment!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

He he, F7F-2(or4)N, as a perk of course :-)

And as a perk attack/fighter for daytime the F7F-1.

F7F-2N had four 20mm cannon with 200rpg in wing-inboard of props.

F7F-1 had four.50mgs with 300rpg in nose, four 20mm cannon with 200rpg in wing-inboard
of props, and two wing pylons for two 1,000lb bombs or rockets, and a bonus load of a torp
for boat-bashing.

If night comes to AH, I would ask for red light on the instruments. I can see nothing in my screen with the usual light in my room. And If I swicht off the light, the instrument panel is too bright.

Cheers,

Pepe

Uhu and P-61 are also "perk-candidates" IMHO.

You left out the meat n potatoes types:

Beaufighter
BF110G
Do217

surely the 110 which equipped the majority of units from the first Nachtjager to the end of the war is more appropriate than the 262
The Ju88C/G is perhaps what you meant

Lordy Lordy Lordy! You can't leave out the He-219A-7/R6 Uhu:

Top Speed of 435mph with 4 forward firing 30mm and two forward firing 20mm. The first operational plane with both pressurized cabin and ejection seat. One BAAAD Night fighter. I think it would be a great jabo too.   Got to have it!
