Improving --- AH Film Recorder
« on: February 26, 2010, 04:14:46 PM »
Wishlist:

Improving the film recorder to include 4 power bars ranging from 0-100 percent.  1- throttle 1- flaps 1- trim 1- rudder

flaps you could have 1  2  3  4  5 on the bar and throttle 0   25    50    75     100  and trim the bar should be vertical/downloand on your screen and have 1 line in the middle horizontal and rudder same as trim besides horizontal.

I'm sure alot of us critique ourselves against better pilots and it's hard watching the film from their plane to see how we can improve.  Yeah we can see the angles but the most important part of knowing how they achieved those angles are skewed and hidden.  If you ask the great pilots what they want out of the game it's white knuckles not knowing who's going to win or obtaining the upper advantage.

I don't know how hard this would be to program but the wish is to be able to see the other planes throttle control, flap work, trim work, and rudder control.

Even if these bars only updated maybe 3 times a second this would still be a huge improvement.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

You mean something like this.

That picture was from this wish
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,271188.0.html

It is a very good wish and I for one love to have it since it would provide a great learning tool for the new and experienced players.

You can see trim and power settings in the cockpit and you can see the control surfaces move in the external view. I don't see the advantage of an additional graphic for the trim settings but it could be convenient to see power, stick and rudder pedal positions in a little box in the corner regardless of the view being used. Make it an option like trails.

I think you can only see the flaps move. I like this idea it would be a great help.

dkff yes something close to that didn't realise it had been a wish before just something I think should be looked at in the future for better game play.  Better fights/game play would be a great thing.

I just checked the current filmviewer and no control surface movement, no trim settings, and no throttle or stick movement.

The only thing that does show is the flaps like sunsfan stated.

The reason I originally came up with the seperate grahic in the corner was because I figured as simple as the graphic was it would not be very resource intensive and it would show more accurately how much input was being used.

I really only showed that other thread TnDep just so no one thought I actually went out of my way to put up a pic when it was already done. You know don't want people to start to expect too much from you  :D .

I would like to see the lead computing gun sight work in the film recorder. . . . .

It would be nice to know where you are shooting and compare it to where you need to be.

Doh. You're right no control surfaces just flaps. I do see my trim gauges move as well as manifold and rpm.

For "broad-side of a barn" shots like myself, this would be helpful.
