Real MG151 rnds?

I noticed this when I took my first browse on E-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=559463884

They seem to look real.. anyone know if they truly are? I'm not sure about paying $24 for a few linked rounds, though it would be nice to have (I recall a site mentioned here selling 20mm HS rounds). Also, anyone know where to find these rounds a little cheaper? I recall a couple years ago on AGW a link was posted showing pictures of this guy in Finland I think who collected LW aircraft cannon and ammunition from crash sites.. unfortunately I don't have the link anymore.

They seem like genuine MG 151/20 rounds to me.

I think I could buy those but how about shipping them outside of US?

Any ammo collectors here? I have just started and have only couple of empty shell cases in calibers of 12.7, 14,5, 23, 37, 45 and 88.

You should check out http://www.manions.com/catpages/itemsger.asp?var1=E30&var2=E39  too, lots of interesting stuff from ordnance to plane instrumentation!

Huh? 16D? The main German gunsights were the ReviC 12D (190A5, 109G2, F4, etc) and the Revi16B (A8, G10). That looks like a 16B to me, I have never heard of a "16D" model.

Wow, thanks jochen, that page has even more ord than e-bay.  You can see the higher velocity (longer casing) 20mm rounds as well as a few of the short casing rounds.  Would be nice to display one with my scale models if I ever get around to building them. It seems like the seller is willing to ship international tho.

Nath is right - I've never heard of a 16D - that doesn't mean it doesn't exist - I just don't know about it.

The auction place selling the Revi also has a 15mm round for sale which is listed as an "anti-aircraft WW2".It doesnt look like a picture of an MG 151/15 round that Ive seen be4, but anything is possible.A whopping $25 just for that one shell is a bit step though ;-)

Also, look at following pages - there r other MG 151 & Oerlikon rounds, as well as all manner of different WW2 German light cannon shells of 15-20mm calibre

Some Mg131/13 rounds including HE ones. What looks like mine shells for the 151/20 and some 151/15 rounds as well.
On other pages there are LW speed gauges and other insterments as well as the cockpit light from a Hog.

Hi Jochen,

Yes, I collect everything up to 57mm calibre (although nowadays I concentrate on military 12.7-57mm).  I have included scale drawings of all service automatic weapon cartridges 11.35-57mm, plus data tables, in my book, together with lots of ammo pics.  If you have any questions on the subject, I'll try to answer them.

Yep, I figured that out too, no change that small amount of powder will propel that kind of projectile to speeds in region of 700 - 900 m/s

Further thought on that ammo auction; I can't be certain because of the angle of the photo, but item 22514-6451 on page 2 (20mm round) looks suspiciously like the rare 20x105 for the MG 204, which only saw use on some seaplanes.

Nath, the Fw190 Pilots handbook mentions also a Revi 16F gunsight in late model 190A8's as well. But I know nothing about it, other than the single reference to it.
