Zito is someone who'll never win a World Series ring.   For the record, that Walk-Off Celebration was NOT over the top.   If you think so, then the whole Bench from last needs to be beaned.   Zito's nothing but a crybaby and was one in Oakland.

Prince Fielder "disrespected no one".   I guess Bobby Thompson's trot around the bases should have allowed Branca in 1952 to drill him.   Nope, but Branca should have drilled him for the Giants stealing signs from the Center Field scoreboard at the Polo Grounds.   Thompson & Willie Mays even said "I want the signs".    THAT is "disrespect of the game".   It's also why I refused to watch the "homage to Willie" a few years back at the All star Game, he's nothing more than a POS, as is his Godson.

But Prince?   No way in hell.

Yeah, tearing his jersey off as he circles the bases is SO respectful to the uniform. And I just watched the footage of the Shot Heard 'Round the World. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with how Thompson rounded the bases--oh which was a pennant-winning shot sending the Giants to the World Series rather than a meaningless walk-off for a team that wasn't in serious playoff contention--and all the celebration was at home plate. Fist pumping is one thing, but Fielder's antics were completely out of line.

Trieze,

I agree on the uniforms. THIS is how the uniform should be worn:

Jersey tucked in and buttoned up, stirrup socks, etc. I wish baseball would do something about their uniform codes. Let's get rid of the head-to-toe armor some guys go out to bat with, too.

Of course you'd post a pic of a Cardinal.  :P

Zito =  :cry    He's the one who followed "more money from a crappy team, then good money from a better team".   Lincecum is four time the pitcher that Injury Prone crybaby ever was/will be.

He deserves a Regular Season Suspension.

"Head to Toe Armor"?   I know of a Steroid User that won't get into the Hall of Fame.   He was a SF Giant.

I see him play every day, so Ryan is the easiest example of a guy who wears the uniform right that comes to mind.

When it comes to baseball. I only watch the playoffs. I don't care how many ABs/RBI s aguy has over 136 games. Till a salary cap is made this sport is dead IMO.

What turned me off was a guy I knew who was a pitcher back in the early 90's claiming that making 700k a year and only pitching every 5 days was hard work. The stupid SOB had the balls to say that in front of a bunch of us that he played juco football with over beers at a bar here in Birmingham during the strike that year. As such we got up flipped him off and said in some flavorful language then "then why don't you settle the couple of hundred bar tab we have!" and left him sitting there. I haven't spoken to that arrogant SOB since that night and refused to watch baseball unless my children are playing.

the Giants shoulda used someone with more velocity, and they shoulda drilled him in his fat head.

From a true baseball fan

What "true baseball fan" would want to see a player intentionally beaned in the head?

I'm sure the true fan would have more intrest in the sport than the BS drama that's associated with it.

Pitcher throwing @ another player intentionally is asualt with a deadly weapon.  I want to see how many would throw @ player @ bat
if the batter came out to the mound with the bat swinging after being hit by pitch lol.

Because he hit a 2 run HR off of Josh Fogg in the 4th inning and they have a chit-reliever like Salomon Torres bean him?    No, I don't find it funny.   But again Zito is irrelevant, as are the Giants.

That's old-fashioned and pure hardball.

Quote
"Ruth did not point at the fence before he swung. If he had made a gesture like that, well, anybody who knows me knows that Ruth would have ended up on his ass." --Pitcher Charlie Root on the "Called Shot" in the 1932 World Series

That was EXACTLY how the game was played. If a batter crowded the plate or showed up the pitcher, then that pitcher would just put the next ball in his ear. The game has been neutered and made timid in the last 20 years. Pitchers get ejected if they so much as brush an opponent's jersey and batters have no fear. Give the plate back to the pitcher and put the fear back into the batter, and you're going to see a whole new and better ballgame.

What Zito did was pure chickenchit, in an even more meaningless game that you stated Prince "got disrespectful" was in his.

A SPRING TRAINING GAME!!!!!

Charlie Root?   An average pitcher in his time.   Talk is cheap, but he served up a 449 foot HR to Ruth, regardless if he "called it" or not.

I say force the pitcher to make a throw within 15 seconds or the pitch is considered a "ball."

Exactly.  Rafael Betancourt of the Indians is the worst pitcher for that crap too.   He had two Delay of Games called in a single inning, against the Tigers in 08.    He uses every second before making his delivery.
