A long time ago…A REAL LONG time ago I had to work at “Toys R Us” to survive through college. It was ugly, but believe it or not, it was a learning experience in itself.
As I stocked the shelves or whatever other God awful $3.25/hr task was handed down to me by some loser who was for some reason 30 and a “Supervisor” at Toys R US, I noticed and learned something about human behavior.
Some kids would come in with their parents and walk behind them in awe by the thousands of toys just taking it all in. They just checked it out, and had the “This is some cool toejam” look on there face.
Others would be running around grabbing everything in sight screaming like retards on acid! They were just happy as flies in turd city checking out all the stuff.
I had no problem with the disciplined kids, or the happy ones running around. “Kids in a candy store” is a good phrase and fitting.
However, it was the 3rd type that showed up WAY to frequent. They grabbed toys and tortured their parents AT EVER isle, and were annoying to the point of it became a constant tug of war screaming match. “I want this! I want that! Whaaaaaa, I need this! “ “Put that down, NO, No!!!! One more time and were leaving right now.” “But Moommy, it’s a 190! A LW plane! I read a book onceon them!
Yadda, yadda yadda.
I know whom these kids grew up to be, and a few play AH. :0)
