The purest form of flight.
« on: March 08, 2010, 11:31:25 AM »
Here is a quick video I put together with footage from last summer.

This is the first video I've ever edited (Windows Movie Maker). I had limited footage to work with because my Gopro would stop working when the batteries got cold or anytime I climbed above about 10,000 feet. Highest climb of the year was 16,000.

Tell me what you think.

now that's different, a ultra light towing a hang glider.  When did they think of that?

Cool video.. I went hang gliding in New Zealand last October for the first time.. It's the closest thing I've ever felt to truly flying..  :rock

This isn't an ultralight, but a LSA (light sport aircraft).

And I couldn't tell you a date, but hang gliders have been aerotowing for a long time now. There are tow parks all over the country and world.

Yea I've flown a lot of things, hundreds of hours in many different general aviation planes, sailplanes, paragliders, etc. Hang gliding is the closest form of 'freeflight' I've experienced. It's exactly like most people dream of flying, prone positions like superman and all.

Funny thing is I used to dream of flying all the time. After I started hang gliding the dreams stopped. I guess my subconscious doesn't need to entertain itself with fantasies when it's happening in real life.

Wow looks like a blast.

Saw some paragliders hanging over a mountain ridge the other day. Made me daydream for a bit always wanted to do it.

Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

Germany is the only country the video can't be played in. Try going through a US proxy server.
