shooting gliders
« on: March 08, 2010, 08:34:43 PM »
Is it just the most dishonorable thing a pilot can do? If a plane is on fire and the pilot is just trying to get home, I say let him go. What do you guys think

If you wait until they roll to a stop, you don't have to lead them.

It sounds like you were in a P38....there was still too many parts working for you to be able to land in accordance with the 38 landing procedures, from what I am able to understand....this was not a dishonorable situation but could have been had the con allowed you to land in such a good state.

and what if the dude just takes a few shots and breaks off to not be seen again? and Yes I was in a p38, but I was struggling to get home due to an unexpectged loss of altitude

well there is no point in running if you haven't landed any hits on a cripple aircraft....you won't get credit for a super, you should have seen me doing this and that pwnage kill..

In all seriousness though...this is the MA...you will get some that will let you go and some that won't. I just last night was annoyed...(well not really annoyed just felt like it) with a guy so shot his shoot...this is something I don't normally do....That is,unless you are BBaw and you bail and make a run for the field to pop off a few pilots on take off with your .45

It sounds like you have what it takes to be a P-38 pilot! If you can maintain that amount of damage and light both engines on fire, you'll have a great start down the road to greatness! Good luck. :salute
