Its a Great Week for AvA Arena!!!
« on: March 10, 2010, 12:09:40 PM »
First, I want to thank Jaeger, Fudgums, and the others for staying with the AvA arena when nobody would show up except for 1 or 2 guys a night!  THANK YOU!

As a History Buff, it makes me extremely happy to see a following in the AvA...it gives you a sense of purpose and a really cool Historical perspective.  I was never all that into the Air War over Europe and the Pacific until I began playing AH about a year ago.  I think it is awesome to fly in the cockpit of some of the greatest Aircraft and the Hull of some of the Greatest Armor/Gvs in history!   I would also like to thank those of you that have began to show up on a nightly basis.  I think it would be cool to have, maybe once a week, a meeting in the AvA arena of all the guys to talk over the weeks Campaign and and what could be added or subtracted.  Forums are nice, but its good to be able to hear the voices of those of us pining for more players to come over.  The MA's are just getting to ridiculous with Gang bangs and Hordes and all the other BS such as Lag and Gvs towering, etc.

I think it would be a great idea to have, each week, the guys who ahve been Participating to list the side they would like to fly for so we can even up the sides, and then further than that, give out assignments.  I like the Midway fights but I have noticed aside from a few guys, its mostly Fighter Vs Fighter.  I would like to get it to the point where we actually have Bombers with escorts, Armor Assaults in formation ( I qam Ex-Military so I may be asking for much here as I am very familiar with Ground and even Air Tactics), etc.  I believe it would add more realism to the Arena and make it stay more towards the Historical Campaigns and Air Battles we all grew up with intrigued by.  Please feel free to throw in your feedback on this post such as Campaigns we may not know of such as the New Guinea Campaign, etc.  Thanks again JG guys and those that fly AvA more frequently now. :salute

Gambit,

Here's a setup I wrote back in September.

It's one I think would do well with the new no icons system. I hope over the next couple of months if we continue with the no icons thing it will get tried again.
I love the history of WWII aviation, and I enjoy doing the research for unit orders of battle and equipment types. I'm going to start working on some more of these for the future.
I'd like to see how BOB plays out with the no icons system. Plus there is some talk of a new war scenario. I'm interested to see how that works as well. Keeping momentum and enthusiasm will be key. I'll support upcoming events and scenarios as much as possible when it doesn't conflict with Squadrons's scheduled events.
