Stupid question but onee I haven't gotten answered yet. What good is the wire that runs from cckpit to tail? What was its purpose?

Me; I run close to chutes, hit rudder hard and cut off limbs of allied pilots with it.

An old and simple request.

Why are outer wing cannons still visible in 2 20 mm 190s ? Should be removed (as with gondolas on 109).
