« on: March 12, 2010, 12:31:57 PM »
Had no idea something could suck so bad... Not only can I not eat any good food, I barf half of it up due to bleeding and thick saliva! My right cheeck is about the size of a balloon, with the left one not far behind, I look like a chipmunk  :rofl  I may be absent from AH longer than I thought I would  :cry.  Until then, I'll be on the forums every now and then.  :salute

My wisdom teeth started coming in late last year. Fortunately they are coming in straight, so I shouldnt have to have them removed.

I had an issue with my right one a couple of weeks ago dentist took an xray and it looks like it is growing at a 45 degree angle into the next tooth  :uhoh

gave me some meds and said he couldn't do anything with it, luckily they worked and reduced the swelling so it doesnt hurt anymore.    :pray

That's weird, why couldn't he take em out? One of mine was coming in at about 45 degrees too, but it WAS visible, so that may have made the difference.
Also, if your dentist said he couldnt do anything about it, you may want to talk to an oral surgeon.

My surgeon explained to me how they get back there to the teeth. He said you put these little black blocks a inch in size in the very back of your mouth on each side then they close your mouth which makes your jaw dis locate and pop down allowing them to have more room to work.

Awesome right?  good thing I was not awake.

I'm 31 and had mine out around 10 years ago, it was 2 separate procedure's, first one on the bottom left grew in sideways, so they had to cut open my gum and then break it apart to take out piece by piece, after that I said your gonna have to knock me out to do the other 3, so those weren't to bad, I really don't remember if the pain after was bad or not though.

Just be glad you didn't have to have them removed in boot camp, trying to sound off with giant rolls of cotton in your mouth, "SR YS SRR!"  And maybe some Tylenol if you're lucky.

Mine all came in fine though.

Give it about a week and you will be good to go. Maybe even three days.

When I got mine out, I woke up on the car seat with my parents driving me home. I did't have one bit of pain throughout my entire healing process, thank God .

LOL It must have been the pain killers they had me jacked up on LOL
