Something isn't right
« on: March 13, 2010, 09:01:34 AM »
Was flyingh around in a 262 just now, A6M got a snapshot, knocked off a aileron and I 'locked up', caught on fire, and nose dived into the ground...this happened to me in a Ki61 yesterday. Did not think to save the film as I was pretty P/O'ed...I'm sure other people have these symptoms. Another guy was buzzing around in a 262 with us and had the same thing happen to him...a fuel leak or something killed him.

I haven't had random control locks yet but I have caught on fire in planes I've rarely burned in before... every sortie.

There's a post in the bug report forum about this. If you have film of the event you may want to contact HTC and see if they need it.

this happend to me aswell. took one ping from sbd tail gun, took a fuel hit and controls completely locked up. i soon augered. i notice with other planes it does the same whenever u register dmg. the plane will shutter and temporarilly lock up regardless of the severity of the dmg

Caught on fire doing a belly slide landing last night, same as I always do, never happened before. I did have a fuel leak when I landed, so maybe having a leak is a more dangerous thing now?

EDIT: Clipboard controls locked up for a few seconds as well. Was at a complete stop, had to click for the tower button about 5 times for a response.

I like hunting buffs too much, found the 38 to take pilot wounds way too easy for that purpose.. has been a few years since I've tried it in a 38 though, maybe we'll give it another shot.

Seems like damage wasn't changed, just beefed up. I hit a P51 with a single 20mm and he caught fire, and lost a wing. Fuel fires seem to be really common now. Looks like this update also partially affected the WW2 arenas.

IIRC Mossies always caught on fire easily in the arenas.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

last night i noticed when i got pilot wounded, blacked out seven times and while i was RTB'n  i had blackout number 8 ( i thought after 7 you died) i bailed out sense there was no use trying to fly 1 sector to land, when i bailed then landed it said successful landing, but i landed with my chute in the water  :headscratch:

I have no film, but it feels like LW damage is much more lethal since the update.

I blew up on being ho'd by a P-51B.  Not even a steady ho.  He had to dip his nose as I was diving to avoid.  I know.  I showed him my canopy, but it was not like he had massive cannons.

I've heard several anecdotes about one pass bomber formation kills.  That is, killing all three bombers in a formation in one pass.  Yes, it has always been possible, but it seems to be happening much more often.
