Rid of F3
« on: March 14, 2010, 10:48:20 PM »
Now can we please get rid of the F3 mood in the DA?Even the new ww1 has no F3,make all arenas the same, and let people learn to kill the hard way if they can in a turn fight or let us sneak under them so they can't see you coming. And by the way I like that there has been Perk added points in the DA amazing how it went from 20 temps out of 50 planes in there to 1 maybe two temps flying now.Thank You HTC.

DA is not another training arena, it's a dueling arena hence the name.

F3 is gamy, and does nothing to teach an individual how to improve as a fighter pilot except in that environment.

I can see keeping it for bombers as they have inherently lousy views, but even when I fly the A20 (I know technically not a bomber) I don't often use F3.

hate to tell you but its not a dueling arena. its a free-for-all-pick-as-much-as-you-can arena.  and it's a place where you go to refine your picking skills.

Unfortunately you are correct. It is a pick, game, and horde learning center.

Yes that may be true in  some sence but it has come a long way in a week much improved since they put in perk's in there it has really made a change alot more dogfights and alot of the bickering talk in has stopped. All I'm say in is F3 has no purpose other then making it like any game you can buy of the shelf, "gamey" if other arenas dont use it why then in the DA it will not help the new comers but hurt there ability to shoot a plane down all they no how is to shoot outside  of there plane.

I'm glad too hear that the DA is improving. and I agree 100% that it will not help newbs to move into the mains.

Now for my question: How do you earn perks in the DA, or do you have to earn them in the MA?

I do agree that F3 should be disabled in the DA.

However, F3 view offers no advantage in a 1v1 fight for anyone with enough cockpit-only view experience. A single bandit is easy to track, even when they momentarily can't be seen.

In furball lake, it might offer some marginal SA advantage, but I would argue that anyone with enough cockpit-view only flight time should still have no trouble compared to a newer player using F3 mode constantly.

In essence, the people using F3 in the DA are only hurting their own learning of the game, and are not gaining significant advantage over any veterans of using proper cockpit SA.

Just my opinion.

That's it right there.

I use f3 while flying the A20 in the MA all the time. Big deal I can now see where you are in a duel it is not like a magic view that allows you to kill instantly you still have to fight.

It's just like the MA you ear the perks by killing same way as MA.And yes you can use the perks you get in the DA in the MA.

No, it's nothing like the MA. Anyone who thinks otherwise probably hasn't spent very much time in either arenas.

Transition would probably be a better word. You know since the DA is just another training arena.

The DA is not just another training area.  There are a lot of idiots in there but you will also find that most of the guys who have around since AW are hanging out in there handing dweebs there butts.  A lot of the cries about picking and such are from noobs getting schooled fair and square by veterans.
