is spamming country ch a reportable offense?
« on: March 15, 2010, 10:30:14 AM »
I dont mean the guy who spams for 20 mins then gets the message and stops, I mean the guy who will not stop the spam despite being told by 20 people every day he logs in. I realise we can squelch but that doesnt stop the problem and the new guys wont know how to do it.

if you've been on knits the last few days you'll know exactly what I'm talking about ...

There was some guy that kept spamming me with join requests in a WW1 arena. I reported him after I had asked him to stop several times.

What's the player doing?  Spamming join messages?  If so, just use the command to put the invite message in the chat buffer and squelch the idiot.  Spam over.

I believe he is talking about spamming the country radio range channell, and a drunk dude that just would not shut up.  Yes I squelched him but as has been stated, it aint cool and would surely make a new guy say wtf.  It is the fist time I have ever squelched anyone and was truly out of control.

Is this the guy that keep making missions and trying to get people to join?  and take control of the CV and tell people what to do?

... yup and the running commentary, and the half conversations with others who are using room ch etc etc. problem is loads of others squelched him but it still takes up the text buffer as other people are trying (yet again) to explain what hes doing, why it is annoying, why he should sthu, what squelch means and why no one is going to join his missions (by that time half the knits cant even see hes posted a miss because theyve squelched him).

jeez even betty was getting annoyed by it, thats how bad he is :o

I had the same thing in WWI the other day. After a few times I let him join and then somehow went on to land 13 kills in a DrI. He didn't send any more requests.  :D

I've reported people for spamming .salute before.  I don't think it is abusing the Report function if enough people, spontaneously, feel the need to .report someone who is just plain annoying.

I'm always squelching the one-sided conversations though.  But, you also know I've told people to shut up on squad channel more than once.
