using 2 joysticks

  I was just wondering if theres anyway i can use my new joystick (Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Joystick)  and my old one (Saitek CyborgX) at the same time.

I want to use my new one to fly with and my old one for extra buttons such as landing gear, bombbay doors open/close, hook, check 6, clipboard map,etc.

If there is a way can someone please let me know what steps i need to do so thanks <S>

Plug both sticks in.

like motherland said...but you got a drop down box in your options/map controllers, from there choose the stick you want to map the buttons to, and then choose the next one, and so forth.

Yup, It's what you do when using rudder pedals. Just a different kind of joystick.

Just set em up in the controller map. I do have to calibrate once in game though when I log in.

Why would you want to use more then 1 stick? 2 throttles I can understand...but 2 joysticks?  

Why not just invest in 1 stick you can program for everything?

I used 2 sticks for a long time. only because my one stick was wore out and my reserve only had a very limited amount of buttons.

here was my setup after making it 2 sticks.



I even fastened them down to a piece of plywood and made it so it would fasten right to the slide tray so that the sticks would not move around. Just remember that those sticks will want to slide around if you try to use them like that.


All you have to do is go into the controller section of the clipboard and select the stick in the drop down above and program it the same way you do now and do that for both sticks.

it worked well for me for the short time that i needed to do so until i got my current set up with stick throttle and pedals.

btw uptown maybe he already has the 2nd stick (backup) and no money to just buy another poece of equipment. just one reason for it

I use 1 joystick, 3 joypads, and a numeric keypad all at the same time. Works well, and it's cheap!

The second pictured  here is modified a bit  , (white lever = flaps)( red lever = RPM) (Yellow lever = tail hook) 3 analog trim pots and a couple of extra buttons that can be assigned, needles to say that I can wire more switches later if I decide to but I thought this was enough ATM and there isn't a whole lot of room left in the throttle Quad box I made

Hey Sheperd, how do you go about controlling the AH flaps via potentiometer with your 'white lever'?

I seem to recall reading about a program that can take an analog pot's output and translate it to a keyboard-like button press. I forget the name of the program or where I read it. Using something like that?

I'm going to need to build a flap control like that for my pit eventually.

I don't...the evo has 4 pots X,Y,Z and twist. (not sure about the labeling of those axis LOL (I have never used a twist stick and I hacked it to pieces the day I got it.)
I used XY Z for the trims and the Twist for the RPM. For the flaps I just used 2 switch connections from the stick and mounted in limit switches that would trigger from the lower part of the lever position and 2 springs for return to center. (same on the tailhook but only 1 limit switch and 1 spring for return.)
