Camel F1 B6299 of 10 Naval Squadron
« on: March 17, 2010, 06:40:37 PM »
Camel B6299 of B Flight of 10 Naval Squadron.  Flown by Lt N. M. MacGregor.

Haven't worked on this in a few days, but I thought I would post a work in progress, not finished yet post for fun.

Still researching some details around the gun area.  Also not sure how much "exhaust stains" to show, alot of pics have been looked at and I am not seeing it.

based on the wheels I had no idea that the Ac were nuclear powered.

That is looking great sir. Im sure there was some kind of  exhaust staining on them all be it "light" that the BW grainy shots didint see.

I've never flown it yet (stick issues, being remedied), but I honestly think I love that plane!

EDIT: er.. I meant I love it because of the skin

Oh yeah a naval bird!

Now I'm really going to learn how to fly the Camel. Something I have not had much success with. :lol

Beautiful work as always, Fencer. Look forward to seeing that one in the air! (of course, I'll never fly it, I feel like I'm blindfolded when I try to fly the Camel, but still...)
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Very nice, I like RNAS color schemes.   A couple of suggestions, depending on how long the aircraft has been in service, the "exhaust stains" would actually be streaks and drips of yellowish brown from the unburnt Castor oil. Kites that are really long in service would have oil soaked areas going from the cowl edge backwards.
