Old Games coming back again for new life
« on: March 19, 2010, 11:49:19 PM »
Just found this since I actually loved Transport Tycoon when it came out way back in the day.

There is an open source version out now and I am downloading and going to try it out to see if I can get it to run on my rig. If not I happen to have an older setup just hanging out for exactly this type of thing. Almost forgot that it is an open source project and you have to locate a copy of Transport Tycoon Deluxe to use or use a version of Linux as outlined in the FAQ here ---> http://wiki.openttd.org/FAQ_installation

Old games?

I would love the WinXP/Linux compatible SU27 Flanker 1.5 remake.

I had a Harrier sim  (Av8b)way back when by Dormark that I loved.
Shipped on a single 1.4 mb floppy disk.

Gave you a complete task force to play with, mission designer, the whole works.

Tried a couple of times to resurrect it, but it was never quite the same.
Would love to see someone remake it with upgraded graphics and FM for modern computers.

Try Fallout2 and Fallout Tactics.
Boy they don't make them like they used to.
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

Still play Xcom on my old Athlon rig in WinXP. I finally got it running a couple of years ago and I just couldn't get rid of the setup just because it has a few old games on it like that. Hard to get rid of some of the classics.

How about Stealth Fighter for the Commodore 64? That was a great game! There was also a great heli game for the 128, can't remember what name is, but it had a cobra helicopter. I just bought my wife the "Retro-Duo" a combo Nintendo/ Nintendo 64. She's a Mario 3 freak. really the only video game she took to, oh there is another- Boulderdash, lol

I'm still trying to find a way to get 'Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption' to run properly on an XP system. Made for wWindows 95/98, should run fine on XP, but never wants to. Half the time it won't even install right when I retry it. :(
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.
