Tempest flaps

The gauge in the cockpit doesnt show how many notchs you have out when you have a flap damaged. I have a film if needed :salute

Wouldn't it always reflect the "working" flap?

Seems that is how I remember it, having to guess how many notches to drop to match the jammed flap.

But what if only 1 is broke....wouldnt you see where the ok one was at?
