F6F .50 cal. vs undamaged Osti or Wirb

Has anyone ever been able to kill a undamaged flack (Osti or Wirb) with 50 cal. only, in your first pass? If so, please share how this is done.

Just go for the turret by coming over top of it then do that a couple times and go for the engine.

Literally dive down straight at it, with your nose pointing at the top of the turret and fire a long, substained burst.  That's been the only way I've been able to score a kill on a flak panzie or Ostie in one pass using the 4x .50s on the Lightning.

It's simple.   I do it with Spit 1's and .303's.

No film needed.   Hit em as Ack-ack describes.   It's easy.   GV noob, towers w/ no supplies because the turret is out, you get awarded the kill.

If you take the turret off of an Ostie or Whirble, you have taken him out of the fight.   Most won't sit idle, unless a valid base capture is at hand.   If that is the case, I'm not in a Spit 1, but more likely a P-38 or F6F.  

I got called a hack once for landing 14 kills in an La7 (no bombs).   All from popping turrets on Osties (pre WW).   But the whines were precious.

It is all easy.  i killed +50 flacks just by killing their guns.

Well you can use other planes like Il-2 and Hurr D with the 40mm its just easier you can do it with 50cal and 303.

Again, i think he is asking if it is possible to put the guy in the tower in 1 pass with 50 cals only not piss him off so he towers.

 I know its this guys first post n all but it is a valid question. anyone can turret a flak so he towers, ya smoke the gun and hes worthless.
