Yes and therefore the canopy (exept the windshield) was taken off the plane. I have read an article about that very special plane in a german air magazine some years ago. The red-white line along the fuselage was to measure the way of flight the ejection seat took after launch.

EDIT: The first crew who successfully ejected in a war mission was awarded with 200 Reichsmark and two weeks of vacation by Prof. heinkel himself
