Junky, I don't know you. I've seen you fly a D-9 pretty well, though, and we had a very gifted engineer here (he was on TV not too long ago, btw, talking about our Salt Flat record setting H2-powered 999 Fusion) who was ex-10th. He was good people.
If you're actively soliciting info, the only thing I think I'd offer is that you recall that one of the improvements the Chieftain offered w/r to the Crusader (or the M-1 w/r the M-60, for that matter) was that it sported a lower profile - and was thus less likely to get seen, shot at, or penetrated failing the first two. Call it the triumph of advantageous geometry...
Just saying (only not in the way that's it's typically used here - i.e., to place a mirkin on even the most outrageous case of mound rash), I'm not sure why you'd choose to put yourself through the inevitable trashing that goes with posting a "hit me" sign up here at the Temple of High Self-Regard. It's a good clientele, but vocal and quite willing to share its opinions... and there's nothing more combative than gamegeeks writing from the safety and comfort of home - except perhaps a drunk at an LA nightclub.
