We really could use either of these planes for picking up downed pilots.

One thing that should be considered for these aircraft is no icons visible to enemy planes, only visible to friendlies. This way one just could have some chance of sneaking in/out using terrain without getting murdered.

for rescue dowed pilots  i say no if this option is obligatory to reup in a plane... cause you could wait 30 mins before one guy bring plane to rescue ...
imagine  :
"i've shoot down near A1  can you send a rescue ?"
no response
"i wait for rescue, woohoo"

"damn !!"

good idea,

just give perk points for rescued down airmen...

then you would have everyone flying rescap missions...

also add a .30  or a .50 caliber MG that hangs in both side windows  , smoke rockets and hand grenades to drop out the window!!  that would make them really funt to fly!!

I not sure I would have patience enough to fly out and hunt for the downed pilot especially since a lot of pilots may get strafed anyway.  However, setting out spies/spotters/special troops is another matter.

Even better than downed ilots would be artilery spotting .. just as it was done in DOA..
