Anyone Try the Wireless Creative Headset Yet?

Apparently you can turn off the dumb LED stuff on the sides...which just wastes battery power anyway...

Im guessing the transmitting end is plugged in via USB?

If I remember correctly. performance wise in game. arent you better off having your headset plugged into the jacks on yoru sound card as opposed to a USB port?

Yep it just eats CPU cycles which is the same thing these other USB headsets do. Will wonders never cease????

Of all the wireless devices I've seen, this is the only one that makes any sense to me. I've tried to hang myself too many times when rushing off to the kitchen, but this one is a bit pricey for the job IMHO.
Easy in-game again.

You can try the HP GW470AA#ABA Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Headphones (mine is tagged GW470AA but Amazon lists it as I posted it here) if you dont mind spending the bucks. It plugs directly into your audio device (works with CD players iPod Zune PC Sound card or whatever sometimes requiring additional hardware) BUT the noise canceling feature will block out everything in the house including your wife screaming about the kitchen fire so bone up on your ESP.  :D

You will need a boom mic when using this headset.

I have a logitech wireless headset and have never had a problem with it.  The only thing i dont like about it is it gets uncomfortable after about 1.5 hours.  Lets just say im glad to get the thing off after a long FSO flight.

You are lucky, then. I bought a 20 dollar pair of Saitek headphones from Egg and they hurt both ears after about 10-20 minutes. I am constantly changing their position around on my head.

when i said i could wear em for a long time before they started to hurt, i meant before they became un-bearable.  They do get somewhat uncomfortable after about 20-30 minutes but i just shake my head enough to move em just a tad and its fine.  :aok

If your cpu can smash atoms while running the game at 1920x1600 then the hit against the proc via a usb interface would be nearly meaningless wouldn't it?

I am sick and tired of getting up and torquing the jacks on my sound card...or ripping the connection clean from the headset itself...

I have a pile of perfectly good headsets that simply need to be soldered back to their lanyards...

Wireless head sets that work would rock...

Wireless does work but you will have to spend more money I think. Look at Sennheiser or AKG or the HP set I linked to. I use a condenser mic on a shock-and-boom instead of the boom-mic headset like you picked. A good mic has the side effect of not picking you up if you move too far away and the headset cancels background noise like I mentioned already. I think Sennheiser and HP go for less than $100/US and the AKGs are much more. I chose the Heil PR-40 mic with a preamp but you dont need to go that high-end. I think Amazon has the MXL 990 mic with a shock mount for about $50 (no boom or cable or preamp) and its all you will need (it will also far beyond gaming).
