Your story reminded me...
I was the second youngest in my graduating class of about 175 with my birthday in August. At the time the legal drinking age was 18, and after graduation everyone in our class went to the bar except me and the only other kid younger than me because we were both still 17.
Not to worry, we met up with everyone at the kegger later on.
Now he really sad part. Just before I turned 18 they changed the legal drinking age to 21.
On the plus side I was 1A #78 or something for the draft and they ended the draft just before I was called.
