The top quote on this Spitfire vs Buchon video as I post this actually made me shudder.  It is as follows:

OUCH!
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Some poor kid is going to read that and, based on the authoritative tone, believe it to be accurate information.  The nature of people is to not look for more information on something they have slight interest in when they think they already know the answer.  :(

I mean, gods, he managed to actually get every single point wrong while sounding like he knew exactly what he was talking about.

People must learn that it is good to be able to answer "I don't know" to a question and then learn.  This crap about being embarrassed not to know or having to posture and pretend to know things you don't is very bad.  "I don't know" is a very honorable answer to a question.

Youtube comments are often FAR more entertaining than the vids they are accompanying. It's amazing how off the off-topic "discussions" can get. And of course, you find the worst stuff when it comes to any kind of history.
That's similar to CH 200 here. Everytime I read "because Hitler..." I know some extremely stupid stuff is coming up  :lol

It is the nature of the Internet Karnak.  How many times a day does some nutjob site get quoted here as being authoritative?  Seems to be if someone finds something that confirms someones position, they use it as an authority.  Facts are slowly becoming irrelevant in favor of the nutjob.

Almost as bad as Wilkipedia. Where anyone can post a "meaning" and they will list it, factual or not.

It's a crap shoot but once you start researching you learn to distinguish what is legit and what isn't. There is a lot of stuff out that looks very legit but it's not...just have to find multiple sources that say the same thing and aren't copies of each other.
