The Crown Vic is soon to be retiring in 2011.  Ford announced recently that they'll be replacing it with the Taurus in 2012.  (Ford currently controls about 70% of the police vehicle sales),

The write-up can be found here:http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/10q1/2012_ford_police_interceptor-car_news

Personally, I prefer the room and handling of the bigger Crown Vic.  How the Taurus will be in that department, we'll have to wait and see.  The Taurus is lighter, which would make it better for city and large town departments.  But, stuffing a 6'3", 285 lbs. guy in the back might be a little tough.

Maybe it will serve as a better reminder not to break the law.

I just hope it can seat my 6'4" 240 butt nice and comfy.

unless they've drastically changed the interior, you should fit in the front fine......also depending on how they load ya up with the extra pd stuff in there.

And up front they always do.  I was talking about the back seat though.

Our Charger's console is similar to this one, except the control panel is made of square, back-lit buttons that control lights/siren/computer power/etc. where the empty space is on the center console.  Our DVR system takes up the top half portion where they have the buttons pictured in the above photo.

My only gripe is that the shifter is kinda awkward, it comes straight out of the dashboard next to the wheel, and turns 90* almost the same as a normal shifter.  Takes a minute to get used to it.

I feel very snug when I sit in it, I just prefer the space that a Crown Vic has (Or seems to have over the Charger).  They won't let me have one that doesn't have a cage  :cry
