A New Thought about 2012

I'll tell what I believe about 12/21/2012... I believe at the end of the day there's gonna be 6 billion people doing a massive facepalm all saying " CRAP!!!! I've only got 3 days to shop for Christmas!!!"

I think ya'll are overestimating the number of people who belief that "something big" will happen in 2012.  I'd bet those "believers" are less them 5% of the population

I've yet to meet a single person who takes it seriously. 

Some of you may have been listening to too much Art Bell and George Noory.

Its no differant than the calendar on my wall it runs out ....doesn't mean the end of the world.

Mayan civilization ended about 2,000 years ago. So it would seem that their calender was off a bit.

Anyways everyone knows that the trouble doesn't start until 2112.

Civilization would have collapsed a long time ago if such a thing would push people over the edge... 2000 came & passed without incident as far as I can remember.

But the calender we use is off by several years.  So that said we could have missed the 2yk thing and that is coming still!  Then in a few years the real end will be here.  On Dec. 20th 2012 I will be selling Jim Jones special kool-aid!  Or t-shirts that say "I survived the Apocalypse".

From an evolutionary stand point how could they possibly know the world is going to end?  I mean how would that information even be available?

Lots of other good points.been posted. They could not fortell ther own demise, but they could the end of the world.

I don't think there are too many people that actually believe in the doomsday theory. If millions believed then it might be another story but only a fraction of a percent think it will end.

I'm half looking forward to it. First off there's going to be a lot of 'End of the World' parties. The 21st is a Friday so it will work very well. If there aren't people out there even now working out how to make a killing, sorry I'll rephrase that, make a lot of money out of it. Then I'll be surprised.

I love watching documentaries on the subject, apocalypse and all that. I treat them like a movie. Fun to watch, food for thought. But not something to take seriously. Inevitably there will be people who will take it seriously. They will hide away or shoot themselves. But in truth nothing they do can make the world end. So I won't be worrying.

But it will be hyped mercilessly getting close to the time.

The whole end of the world mythology is a bit sad really. There are any number of variations on it. All silly and based on a lot of deluded thinking.
