Lets look at a simplifyed list of the candidats.

Ok so having looked at the list of the most elegiable bomb capable aircraft for Italy what looks best?

The Cant Z 1007 look's better than the SM 79, and the P 108, would be a very capable platform for shure althought it was prouduced in small numbers it did see use.

I say for a buff it is betwenn the Cant Z 1007 and the p 108.

The Re 2000 series has a lot of potential for groth and would provide a jabo for Italy, the re 2005 would be a great plane nice arament and decent handeling a nice plane.

The Cant 1007 is a better plane than the SM79. The SM82 would be another alternative.

The Ju87B was used a lot by the Italians. If one is modelled, should be in Italian colours. Give the Germans the Ju87D and G.

RE2000, RE2001 should definitely be included.

Those would work with the '41-'42 British and German planes we have now.

If early war series was started, then the following:

CR42
G50
SM79

I don't think more than one flying boat of any nationality is worthwhile. They all basically perform the same function and have similar vulnerabilities. Maybe a Japanese one would be a better choice. Or a U.S./British flying boat and a Japanese floatplane fighter.

The SM79 would be better as a 1940-1942 medium torpedo bomber. Built in large numbers. We have tons of data about the SM79. Great for Malta-Med scenarios and maps.

Same thing for the C.200, better and built in greater number than the G.50. Great for any North African map/scenario. They used it for jabo as well.

The C.202 was better than the Re2001 (cannon fodder for Malta Spitfires) and the G.55 was batter and built in far bigger numbers than the Re2005.

Anyway, I'm afraid we'll see many Japanese/RAF/Russian planes before PYRO'd even think about an italian a/c

Re2005?...oh come on, just 37 planes built in WWII!. It had no real significance historically.

A RE2000 would be cool jabo, and a SM79 a nice scenario plane...but I do think the Italian C205 is the best fighter we should have here.

(of course if you want it perked, the Re2005 would be just fine

The only perk italian fiter could be the G.56 (two prototypes built and tested by italian and Luftwaffe pilots). Are those numbers enuff?

Jokes apart the Re2005 is *not* a perk fighter. It is only a good 1943 a/c.

I wonder why most people lean toward the S.M. 79 it is clearly less capable than the Z. 1007 and they served in all the theaters Throught the war together, Russia, the med, N Africa...am I missing somthing?

I think after looking at the payload of the Z 1007 that it would do well in the MA heck it has a bigger payload than the B 26 and can cary 2 torpedos.

On the subject of the Re 2000 series I was looking at it from the perspective of a JABO first, and second from the perspective of being able do some nice varents.

It would be nice to add a plane from Italy that could compeat in the MA and not just add collor I think the Z 1007 is that Buff(or the P 108).

As far as float plane's are concerned Buzzbait has a point, howeaver the Emilly would probably be the best flying boat do to it's heavy defensive arament and Large bomb load make it a viable tool in the MA.

Well the Z 1007 can compeat, the Re 2000 series in general could compeat, mabby not the Re 2000 it self but certanialy the Re 2005, the Re 2002, would give Italy a Jabo capacity, heck spead is not everthing Gents I managed to kill a Spit 9 in My 202 the other day anything is possable, Look at the 190F8 ya gota love the FW 190 to fly it, I suspect fans of Italian planes would welcome the Re 2002 and it's Bomb,Would be nice for scenarious to(Z. 1007 to

My dad (who is italian) says that the italians were idiots going with most of the thing's that they did go with. Sm.79 does need to be added but it will be easy pickings to the fleets that we have. I mean with every singal AA gun in the fleet looking at you your gonna die. I say make it so that you can take out the guns to make your life a little less diffacult and than add it. other than that it is useless.

Well first off I would not add the S.M. 79, the CAnt Z 1007 is a much better Buff, and would still be usefull in the MA, more suriviable than the JU 88. It would also add a great deal to the CT and special events.

Fleat ack is highly doubious in effectiveness, you can still get to withen torp range before it kills you unless it is maned.

IMO fleats are insanely easy to kill, one man can still do it and survive.

Also their is no defense aganst a sucide dweeb.

As posted in another thread:

I would like to see the SM79 first. She's a beautiful plane, was a gem to fly according to accounts, and had long service in several theatres with good payload for the time. Also, modeling the tri-engine from there it would not be too difficult to add fixed gear, downgrade performance slightly and have the SM 81 Pipistrello (or Tante Ju-the Junkers Ju52) which gives you a Spanish Civil War bomber/transport through the early North Africa campaigns. Also, would not take many modifications to change the SM79 model to the Cant Alcione, the best Italian Bomber.

I woud love to see a P108, but you know, it wasn't widely used.

There were also several excllent 2 and 3 engined floatplane/scout torpedoe bombers that would be great additions and as well as the Fiat 32 and 42s for Spanish Civil war and North Africa/Gibraltar campaigns.

The Br20, love it or hate it, was widely used and would also be a great plane to have online.

Just my ignorant .02 worth.

I think I would like sm79, and whatever bombers were mainly used in malta, along with a Cr.42 & a Gloster Gladiator, then we would have a perfect Malta setup!
But I don't think we will get any of them too soon, especially the biplanes, a squaddie of mine asked Hitech if they were gonna add the Gloster Gladiator anytime soon & he said he doesnt like biplanes:( but pyro is the one that choses planes, and I'm sure HT would agree as well if enough ppl wanted em.
