I'd kill to see an early Med/SCW arena with Glads fighting Cr32s, 42s.
The SM79, Br20 would be good Itai bombers for Malta as would the 110, Ju87, He111 and Ju88 from the German units. I can't recall if any Dorniers were involved or not, or Sm 81s. I don't recall the Lynx being used there either (I'll check Dunnings Courage Alone if you like for the OB for Malta campaigns), but, the archetype Italian bomber has to be seen as the SM79.
