since the destruction of strats lengthens the down time of that particular strat, why not make a tank factory strat or an aircraft factory strat?

yeah i was wondering this because i was doing some "just for fun" strat runs in lancs today (and managed over 8000 damage and 3 kills  :lol).

but think about it, how many times has someone taken out a vh to capture a base, the capture fails, your locked in stalemate, and all of a sudden the vh pops and the capture is now near impossible? me=many times. this would atleast give an extra 2-5 mins for the attackers

Strat play still seems poor in AH. If strat played a better role we'd see more bombers and then perhaps the bombers could modelled a bit more realistically.
Here we are, living on top of a molten ball of rock, spinning around at a 1,000mph, orbiting a nuclear fireball and whizzing through space at half-a-million miles per hour. Most of us believe in super-beings which for some reason need to be praised for setting this up. This, apparently, is normal.

This would certainly add a new, good, dynamic to the game.   :aok

FF, BF & GF's would be a great addition....  And worth defending to the end!

...and the railways and roads and bridges? If they're taken out then maybe there would be a local advantage for a particular field not being able to recover so fast. I think that's how it is/was supposed to work with the convoys, railways and barges. Doesn't seem to work as well as it should though.

The new strat is a start. It's a work-in-progress. We'll see where it goes.

What bothers me about strat runs we've been on is that the enemy can't help but know we are coming, with the obvious dar-bar & all, but what we've routinely experienced now is the enemy does not thwart us FROM attacking strat, they wait until we've bombed it & had our fun, AND THEN come after us allllllll the way across back to some base on our home turf for cheap kills & vulches- not that I'm complaining about having multitudes of knits/rooks to turn into hamburger. :D

That usually is stopped by some of our buddies already up in fighters or just taking off to help bring us in, BUT, to me it proves yet again the STRAT IS NOT MATERIALISTICALLY VALUABLE ENOUGH for the enemy to stop us from bombing it. There has to be something the enemy considers valuable enough that they would hate to lose it, and therefore defend it.

If your talking Rook or Nit the loss of Furballing is about the biggest motivation for them. For Bish loss of GV's seems to me the biggest kick in the you know what you could give us.

While it never affected me in the slightest bit but the quickest way to clear out an arena in AW was to kill the Spitfire factory for a particular side.  Since I was a Czlander and our side was outnumbered the majority of the time in the Euro arenas, if the Az or Bzlander numbers became overwhelming, we'd do raids in Deathstars and Mosquitos to the Spitfire factory.  The Deathstars would take out the Spitfire factory while the Mosquitos would attack the supply airfield (where the supply drones were launched from) and knock out that base.  We were able to keep the Spitfire factory down as long as we wanted and soon the opposing numbers would drop dramatically as long as the Spitfire wasn't available.

I hope to god HT never EVER implements something like this.  I would cry myself to sleep at night knowing the god fearing toolshedders would have the ability to do that.  I mean I fly lots of other aircraft but to take away my divine right to own everything in my Spitfire is complete BS!

There is a simple solution, defend the Spitfire factory.  There were other occasions where we failed miserably and got overwhelmed by the defenders and didn't make it to the factories.

I think it should be more historically correct though... as in knock out the 109K4 factory... the 163 factory... the 152 factory... and so on.  :D

The biggest problem would be the players themselves. Who wants to sign on and discover that the enemy have just taken out all the strat and you're country is at a disadvantage? Maybe your favourite plane is unavailable or costs too much. Might as well sign-off and play Kong or something. It's a tricky situation from AH's POV.

Having that too - taking down bridges to help a local attack, highlighting the last known location of an enemy fleet, having a noticeable effect on the enemies resources etc. -(even if only for a short while) would be really, really nice.
