"Don't look Up"
« on: April 12, 2010, 07:16:19 AM »
All is well the last few weeks, except one problem. This seldom occurs but maybe once every two hrs, when panning in the up view in lift vector I get a freeze, total requiring a restart on the pc. All panning is assigned to the hat switch except for the up view which is assigned to a button on the joystick.  This hasn't been an issue in the past.  Thank You...

Is it simultaneous, do frames go down before it happens? Maybe even post a DXDIAG, because I've never seen an internet connection do this before, sounds like something internal. I used to have the same problem with the game back when I had VERY minimal RAM, not sure if it is the same deal here.

if your joystick is a USB joystick try switching to a different port, the small connectors sometimes get bent, and when they get the proper signal they sometimes short out.

If that dosent solve you issue then the joystick may be shorting out.

I had a similar problem with the first issue.

Thanks Eagleclaw & Groundfeeder,

I was on for around 3 hrs tonight without incidence. I took Groundfeeder's advice and changed usb ports...so far it has worked fine. I appreciate the help <S>
