Ok, bare with me as I set the stage   :)

Mathman:  I've got some perks to burn, gonna up a 262

AKLarry:  Kewl, I'll join ya.

*Period goes by as we climb off to kill bad guys*

AKLarry:  No disco no disco no disco no disco   :)

Mathman:  Rumor is its only 100 perks if you disco now.

AKLarry:  Really? Kewl!  Wanna go get dirty and kill some bad guys?

Mathman:  Sure, in.

*LONG PERIOD OF RADIO SILENCE, during which AKLarry disappears!*

AKLarry:  Fek me!

Mathman:  Disco?

AKLarry:  No, computer locked up, really weird.

AKLarry:  BTW, its still 200 perkies :O

*small period of time goes by ...*

Countryman:  VH at 44 WEAK!  Need it down!
(Note: Mathman still in 262).

AKLarry:  Mathman, go strafe VH   :D

Mathman: Ok.

And the stage is set.  I'm flying along and see a streak of green go soaring through the skies, diving down on the VH!  Its Mathman, 3 30mm canons blazing!  BOOM!  Down goes VH!

But, what is less clear is what caused it to go down.  The 3 30mm canons pouring into it or the 12,000 pounds of German Jet that flew into it!   :D

GIVE 'EM HELL MATH! S!   :D

Does the 262 not buffet at low altitude prior to compressibility like it does at high altitude?

Hmm, I was 'forced' to strafe a goon at P39 once (Mindanao) and got the M16 covering it as well. So, it can be done.  :D

262 is primary ride now... I've lost 1 to a niki poping out of the cloud bank at the exact moment i apexed a rope-a-dope.  I've lost 1 to an extremly hard landing, broke a gear and smacked a tree.  And the 3rd one was so embarrassing than i cannot even rememebr it.

I've landed over 15 262 sorties.  Love the ride, but the BnZ is boring the hell outta me.  today i Fought 3 P51's over 44 at 15k feet.  MAN WAS I OUTCLASSED.  I didnt stand a chance.  51's out scissored me, out turned me could for a few critical secs zoom with me, even in a rope a dope, i couldnt bring the nose around fast enuf to get the good shot.  Most of your 262 dog fights are too hi of a deflection for a good hit rate.  Ammo load too low to spray and prey....

I used to not dog fite int his bird, instead i spent all my time hunting buffs/ goons and vulch AFK climb outs.

But after todays fight with the 13th TAS, I really like dog fighting it.  It is a fighter after all, I better elarn to use it as such.

BTW I've got just 3 262's left in my personal hanger, so I better be very aggressive and stay alive  :)

You didn't ask me, but I have to tell you that I have lots of film of 262 flying. It just won't play for more than a minute or so.

Ok, I just have to add since many of you seem to have missed it - this is truly one of those AH moments.  One of those AH moments I will not forget.  I suppose you just had to be there  :)  Thanks Math for the great laugh!  :D

2 disco = 300 points

1 ram and 1 over compress = 400

Never was killed in one, never even was pinged.

700 perks for 30 kills, man, it is too many.

Disconnect problem still very annoying. HTC shall do something about it, losing so many perks due to net problems is annoying. It was annoying even with tempest, but with 200 perks ride it's terrible.

What it really is, is a Perk Point Black Hole.

They go in, and around, and in and around, but nothing ever comes out. Once they're in they are gone.

Keeping my distance, sucker is NOT going to suck all my perks up.  :)

Aknimitz,

Perhaps it was the missing 4th 30mm that caused it to blow?
