Strange behavior with the 109G14 with the new patch
« on: April 15, 2010, 04:45:51 AM »
Maybe my rudder pedals are failing, but often it feels like the rudder controls are sticking when I'm in a violent fight, almost like I'm constantly giving full right rudder. Has anyone else noticed this when your flying slow and aggressively? It appears to have started with the latest patch for me.

Thanks

sounds like torque to me... unless it's actually your pedals. Slow speed + full power on a 109 produces quite a bit of torque.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.

Ardy seems like he has been flying the 109's long enough to know about the torque though. I have only been flying the k4 and haven't noticed anything in that particular plane. I will test out the g14 and let you know if i find anything (although I dont use pedals)

yeah, I know about the torque, it usually pulls to the left not the right, thats what threw me off.
If I film it, is there an 'egg' in the film viewer that will show the stick/pedal inputs? this could help clarify whats going on.

I haven't noticed anything different in any of the 109s.

Perk the G14! Not that I fly it often, except from capped bases...but I haven't noticed anything.

I don't know if you have rudder pedals or not Ardy, but my pedals are getting old and worn out, and they won't go back to center on they're own like they used to, half the time. Could this be the problem?

Thats what I'm beginning to think too. I wish I could see the recorded stick/pedal inputs from a film, that would confirm if its the pedals.

Just go into the clipboard setup next time it happens (even if you die) and click on the rudder axis and click the tab to open up the side flap.

See if the green bar is centered while feet are off, or if it's pegged to one extreme. Would be a big indicator it's hardware and not software.

Good idea, I'll try that, it doesn't last for long, only for a couple of sec, is there a quick key to the controls menu?

Open it at the beginning of your flight, then minimize the clipboard. Hit Esc and it'll come right back up.
