Yes, all engine sounds, internal and external, should be tied to the same slider.
Irrelevant.  All engine volume should be controlled by a single slider.  Tank, airplane and boat alike.

Im not sure I understand your post.  How is it Irreverent? Or Ir evelent to what?  I was responding to the Drediocks post.   I was trying to be nice but i guess you all dont understand it that way  so ill give u both barrels.

To whine about not GV'in cause of the gamey sound stuff is a based more on volition (somebody got owned in a tank)than preponderance of fact.  The changing of the game sounds is such a small fraction of tanking and only works partly in two situations that I can think of.  It is all so easily defeated if you know what your doing.

Same as turning your sounds down in a plane so you can hear the other guy.

I get owned in tanks everyday. I think 4 kills in 110 sorties. No I don't know what I'm doing. if I spawn in a tank I get bombed if I spawn in a whirble I get shot by a tank. or the spawn campers kill me right away before I even get a shot off. I'm getting a little better at ranging. I got some help from wwhiskey on ranging techniques. I still can't hit a moving tank or shoot from a moving tank. I still can't find the spawn campers or shoot from the other side of a hill and kill something I can't see in one shot.

1) Stay in 1 model of tank and learn it
2) Look up the kill shot points on all other GV's
3) Learn how to position your tank for maximum deflection of enemy rounds
4) Practice with different zoom levels on the sight and use the arrow keys to open up the sight
5) Drive while in the pintle (top of turret position)
6) Set the views to the best position when in drivers seat (pge up and arrows will move your head out of the tank in most)
7) Be patient( if you can hear them, they can hear you)
8) Enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling when blowing up a Tiger with 1 shot
9) Be as gamey as you want with reg's to turning the sounds up/down
10) Say hello to another AH adiction and enjoy the doughnuts :D

Have fun mate  <S>

On a serious note TnDep, here are some things to practice:

1) Learn to shoot from stationary hide postion.  You got to be able to hit the target, so a lot of stationary shooting is in order.  Eventually the range, kill spots, etc. will become automatic for ya.

2) Learn to shoot and scoot.  Take a shot, kill an enemy GV, then move to new position.  Keeps other enemy GVs and planes from zeroing in on your position.

3) Learn to shoot while moving.  Oh the surprises some folks get when you are rolling and put a round right through their turret!

Work these three methodologies over and over and you will be the donut tank master!

like all the guys have told you, takes time and practice. I've suffered alot at the hands of guys like ausmith in a tank, and akak and cobia from the air. but I'm much better now!  :D

lol Rino thats cute...........

Way I know what your talking about I got shot by a moving tank today from around 1200 yrds and he was a trucking.  Nice shot by the way it was GunNrun.

I have trouble getting the sight where I want it any suggestions on the settings.  If I got them ranged after I fire the shot trying to get it back to the same spot is hard as my stick moves it to much.  Maybe this is a simple fix not sure.

When you are not moving, try firing while the gear select is in neutral.  Also take note of what part of the sight lines up with a static reference point (ie left edge of range bar(x) touches a barn roof or tree top) when landing hits.  Especially useful if your tank has been tracked or firing from a sloped postion. Try not to jerk the stick while firing, also use a little more damping on your stick settings.

I find keeping the tank in high gear while stopped makes my tank more stable during firing.
Your mileage may vary.

I seem to get less bounce from the recoil with it in neutral :headscratch:

Have you scaled your stick yet?   and You really do need o be in neutral.

I find that the sight will settle nearer to it's original position (sometimes excactly) after the recoil bounce when in neutral, than when a gear is engaged.
