Well the first thing is that it's really slow, however, this is realistic. Thus, some solutions to "speed" things up realistically:

1) Giganta Glider   c47 tows glider, glider contains 1 or 2 tanks

2) Trains - either AI or "human" controlled.. trains go at around 40-60mph all the time and stop off periodically at certain spots (say close to fields). You just drive your tank onboard, and wait until you get to the destination at least half the time! For fun, you can also gun for your tank while on the train to try and prevent any nasty plane types from ruining your trip.

3) Roads - smooth

3.1) Tunnels - need to bypass that big hill? no problem, just go through it

3.2) Bridges - big canyon = big bridge

The last thing, I've noticed that vehicle bases are far away from the front? Wouldn't it be best to have all the vehicle bases at or near the front? Also, enemy bases closer together as well so you get more land combat?

The games great, the tanks are a blast (literally)

Well, I had a few ideas too.

Either make the vehicles not slow down while going uphill and faster, or a more "Vehicle friendly" terrain with spawn points closer.

I love the tanks, but it isn't setup yet for their use to be normal.

Tanks have ALOT of promise tho.. it is sooo much fun to get in a long distance shootout with an enemy tank.

And you guys thought I had a bad idea 4 weeks ago about having transports for vehicles   well I dont know may still be bad but we need to think of a way to get the time to engagement for tanks to about 10-15 mins

The air transport idea isn't what I had in mind.

LordHaHa had an idea online and wanted to know if trains could make an appearance.

I still think the tanks shouldn't slow down going uphill (and downhill...I hit 90mph coasting downhill and how silly is that).

Another idea I've been playing with.

Lets say you can "launch" a tank (or even more than one) from a field and give it a coordinate to head towards. Then you can go and fly whatever plane keeping yourself entertained. After going back to the tower you can then "jump" into one of your tanks (in the meantime they just headed to the destination "defenseless"). Thus, you wouldn't be bored while traversing terrain for an hour.

To me the problem has already been identified.

The vehicles spawn too far away.  Period.  How do you fix that?  Move the spawn points closer.

It is that simple.

Hans.

I think roads would be a major improvement, make them run from base to base.  I tried several times to get a halftrack up to one to add to that bases defenses but it would go, stalled all the time, even in low gear.  Roads so you could get up to the elevated bases would help.

I also have difficulting judging range and I believe it is a prespective issue.  I hate to say it but some form of range finder is necessary.  I was trying to shell the bish radar factory with a Panzer and couldn't tell how short, or how long with many a round.  The ability to adjust fire without excessive gross gyrations would really help.  With Tanks you get the range from the icon, no joy with bldgs Etc.. Etc..

A way to unbutton and use a coax also, or more flexibility with the coax, you just can raise it enough to engage fighters.  Once they get above a certain angle there is nothing you can do.  I don't say for the main gun, just the coax.

Wouldn't it be easier to have several different spawn points close to the front with a home 'base' (such as the current vehicle fields). Each spawn point can be temporarily put out of action by destroying a makeshift hangar (with defence, of course) but regenerate quickly. However, if the home base is over-run by tanks (say 4) then the base and all the spawn points are captured for the country. Does that sound at all logical? I think the problem with moving the bases closer to the front would be the speed at which they could be knocked out by JABO...
