this was Russia's only 4-engined bomber (besides their copy of the B-29) in the war. it was designed for high-altitude, long-range sorties to Berlin. numerous engine problems plagued this bomber though, it was very under powered and very unreliable, but improvements were seen after fitting the M-82 engines in. saw service in numerous raids deep in German occupied territory from 1940-the end of the war. this would be good in the "nice to have" category IMO.
specs:
max speed@ 20,000 ft: 275 mph
service ceiling: 9500 meters
powerplant: 4x M-82 inline engines at 1700 hp each (post-1942 version)
max bomb load: 4000 kg.
defensive armament: 2x 7.62mm MG's in the nose, 2x 12.7mm MG's under the wings (kind of an interesting placement), 1x 20mm cannon in dorsal turret and 1x 20mm turret in tail (yes, the crappy Russian ShVAK cannons)
