1. the razorback behind the cockpit to the tail looks funky. dosn't slope down to the Vstab and Hstab correctly.

can you confirm this? or am I looking at it from a funky angle?

----

2. the pilots canopy kicks ass.
but should not be able to see through to other side (rear window panels) behind pilots armored headrest.

p.s. Wrong plane? What does it look like a Focke Wulfe or something?? If that isn't the same P-47 type modelled by HTC I'll eat a tentacle. It's a side shot showing the razorback clearly. I think the screen shot shows the AH P-47D 'Razorback' a bit out of perspective due to the close in from the tail angle.  Also, Citabiras example was definately taken with a lense that suffered some sort of optical fish eye type of view. That plane is distorted a bit in that picture.

Nice 47..except nose/tail markings are off.
Cowling should be red with no stripes on the horizontal stab.

Hmm, according to Squidzillas picture, the AH razorback has too big horizontal stabilizers..

Looks like in the screenshot elevators and rudder are on about same line, but in the picture elevators are more to forward, only halfway over the rudder.

hmm, vertical stabilizer shape might be bit different too.
In the picture vert stabs tip looks sharper than in the screenshot.
that one might go to POW of the picture as well.

It looks funny because instead of a reworked tail section specifically, the D25 used, grafting on a different cockpit and stretching the tail to make it fit while doing minimum work.

Or it's taken at a funny angle.

who knows?

They probably took a field trip down to Galveston and looked at P-47G painted as Walter Beckham's "Little Demon", which has open rear windows where the retrofitted back seat is.

Ok, now I'm going to nit pick.  The US insignia over the intercooler door (those are the big square openings on either side of the rear fuselage) is done incorrectly.  The doors look open since there is a shadow effect along the latter half.  But you should be able to see a portion of the US insignia on the forward half of the intercooler door which slides forward and into the fuselage.  Also, the area exposed by the open intercooler doors was often bare metal with only the US insignia applied.

I've got a really good sequence of pictures that show exactly how the intercooler doors operate.  They didn't simply open inward or slide forward--they did both.  I'll try to scan the pictures for you so you know what I mean.

The code letters HV slightly overlap the intercooler doors--they should be moved forward a hair in front of the intercooler doors.  The "A" should be slid slightly aft just in front of the horizontal stab, and the US insignia on the fuselage should be raised slightly and enlarged about 20% (the size of the insignia in the black and white picture at the top of this thread).  There is no antenna mast.  There are no kill markers!! (Should be what? about 16?... will research later) There is no rearview mirrow--but then no other planes in AH have em.

BTW, we getting 108 and 150 gallon drops for the jug in this version?

One question on color...

Many pictures I see of the early olive drab jugs appear a chocolate brown color, as in the photo above.  Yet I often see profile are with the color appearing more greenish.

Which one is correct, or were there two different olive drabs in use?
