Uh? There are non rare a/c here. What we get in AH are "new" a/c or variants like the C.205, the G-10, the N1K2, the F4U-1D or the incoming Marauder.
I'm sure we'll see the P38 (J-type, I guess) some more bombers and maybe the P47D.
Then I'm sure we'll step back to 1942-43 fighters. And then to the 1940-41 plane set.

Nath: Don't trust Fishu and his CRC-2000 device; look at this word he wrote - wan't - obviously it doesn't work correctly, or Fishu doesn't trust it enough to use it himself.

So hows about after the B-26 Maruader, maybe a Tempest V or Ju188?

Now now....

Lets not forget the P-63C KingCobra in VVS markings!!

1.)Never done in a sim before
2.)Qualify's as both a "Soviet" bird and a "US bird"
3.) Also makes also those BFG type guys really happy (like me).

And for arena fighting it should knock off the P-51 as the king O' da Heap (at least at arena altitudes).

Of course a Typhoon/Tempest might very well do the same.

Really the KingCobra can beat a Pony? Can you provide some performance figures Verm?

And who keep Leonid quiet if another kite with VVS marking enters the arena? I'm really worried about that ...

As far as level speed is concerned, I believe I have read numbers that back up Verm. I'll see what I can find...

P38, P47, P63, Typhoon, Marauder, Tempest... wait a minute, wheres all non-brit/US plane?
If we get all these, wheres my Dora or Ta152 with what to fight against them?
Oh, btw. you guys ever knew about P38s engine freezing problem at higher altitudes, and given restrictions for maximum altitude?
What I remember J still suffered of those but L was now better made for cold...
Hehe, would love to see P38 engines freeze at 30k

Well...

These are from American Hundred Thousand (AHT), easily the best American Fighter book ever published. I won't give numbers since most would typically require a graph.

P63C vs P51D Comparison

Max Speed:
P-63C has better speed up until 20K, where the P51D becomes superior

Times to Climb:
P-63C is vastly superior throught the entire altitude spectrum.

Range & Radius:
P-51D is has much better range, with and without droptanks (both are dropta
nk capable)

Takeoff Distance:
P-51D has a shorter takeoff distance.

Roll Rates:
P-63 has better roll rates

Turn Rates:
P-63 has superior turn rates

Level Flight Acceleration (250mph):
P-51 accelerates better

Vertical dive Acceleration:
No data given for P-63, P-51 ranked 2nd overall

Dive Speed Limit:
Tie, both are 500mph dive speed limited

Visibility:
P-51D has much better visibility

Firepower (opinon):
P-63 has x4 .50cals + x1 37mm, P-51 has x6 .50cals, opinon is that edge goes to KingCobra

There are several others, but what it comes down to is personal preference. How do you like to fight and at what altitude? Personally I think the P-63 would fit my style much better, but they are both very capable aircraft.

After the poor showing of the Bell P-39, and the requirement for long range escort the USAAC was not very interested in the P-63. Nearly all of them were shipped to the Soviets under lend-lease.

(The following is true and not a joke or troll)

A few were kept and used in Frangible bullet training for bomber gunners. These P-63s were given extra armor and painted bright orange. The had lights installed on them that lit up they were hit by gunner trainees shooting ceramic bullets. The project was named Operation Pinball.
