My personal tactic on the rare occasions I go GVing is to take an M-8, get up nice and close, and pop off as many shots as necessary to my opponent.  As a general rule, I stay on the move as much as possible.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

Are you using theproper ammo for the job? HE rounds are not ferry effective against a tank compared to AP rounds

I would like to see a little more realism in the armored vehicles when it comes to being hit. For example, if a tank took a hit an no damage I would expect the tank to jump a little and shake up the tank operators inside. The best description that comes to mind would be a brown-out, instead of a black-out.

I can remember once shooting a tiger tank with damaged tracks and turrent using a field soft ack gun. I was less then 100 yards from the tiger and hit it 100-200 times. I finally gave up and towered.

ack gun = HE round, not AP.

There is a right way and a wrong way to approach things on the bulletin board.  This thread is a shining example of the wrong way to do it.
