In combat ur blood pressure goes waaaaay up so ur G tolerance goes up accordingly. and the G suit only helps @ 1 G (ONE G)... USAF stats.. those comments on the G suit were done under benighn test condittions where ur life wasn't at stake no adrenalin etc. I used to play with GREYOUT at 6.5 G's in T-38 at the bottom and beginning of a loop. I would allow myself to Greyout untlil the tunnle was about half way, the tighten my legs and abdomen and pooof Greyout GONE at 6.5 G's. Now most of my fellow UPT pilots couldn't do this except for one BIG Texan and myself. There are guys out there that can pulll the imfamous "Elephant award 15 G's". The G model here is far to restrictive. Ref. Eagle's comments w his Granfather. Pyro, sorry but ur wrong, some guys LUV G's and it don't hurt if ur mildly in shape, other guys bruise easy. 9 G's usually does hurt a little if u do it all the time, actually the best G pullers were slightly overweight, no AEROBIC exercise, just weight training.

I really wish you would learn to post a reply in the thread you are interested in commenting in and not starting a new topic.

Sorry myself. It sounded harsher than intended. After reading several 'new' threads instead  of new posts in existing threads I got a tad aggrivated.

I'm sure it will happen again.
(me getting aggravated that is)

What good would a G suit do at 1 G?  I never have any problems blacking out at 1 G unless I drink a lot.

The point I made in the other thread is you just can't take an example of someone or yourself and state that that is the way it is for everybody.  I cited the diverse comments given at the Joint Fighter Conference but apparently you don't think much of them.

In the 1944 Pilot's Information File, the following is stated:

"Men differ in their reaction to G forces.  The average man blacks out at 5 G, if maximum G is reached in 2 or 3 seconds and maintained for 10 seconds.  Some men black out at 3 1/2 G, while a few retain some vision until they reach 7 G.  Most men experience some visual dimming between 3 1/2 and 4 Gs, held for 10 seconds."

Flight phsyiology has come a long way since WWII.

Pyro,

Those are comments, from pilots who are NOT IN COMBAT at the time. The other G comments u make are from those DOING NOTHING but sitting there flying a plane! What will it hurt to delay the onset one lousy "G"?? It will make many happy and the game more enjoyable and irritate no-one. The modeling is otherwise ok, better than WBs. The head bobbing is a little excessive. Your head doesn't bob that much when you are fine tuning a target aquisittion. Thats small potatos to the "G" thing though. It's your agme, of couse, so have at it. :-)

Pyro,

sorry forgot to explain the "one G" help of the G-suit/fast pants. Thats one additional G beyond ur normal tolerance.

PYRO I think the drink is way over model here I bet you dont even make one g before passing out. I also bet your vision is blurred at any movement at all.   So i expect to see designated pilots in the next release for those who indulge in the drinking part of aces high, I also expect the designated pilots to be little old ladys that cant fly so I have someone to shoot. By the way that spining that you see is not counted in the g meter.   Another good thing is that everytime you have to debeer and rebeer a big neon sign is posted above your plane noone at controls shoot me quick. enough fun for now.

Hmmm.  Never heard the one about G-tolerance going up in combat due to blood pressure increase.  Plausible, but is there any scientific data to support it?  I know the Navy did some aeromed research where they determined that CV pilots "just sitting there flying a plane" on night approaches to the carrier had very similar vital signs to guys actually in combat (tho where they got the guys to volunteer to be wired up for a combat mission I don't know)

At any rate, I don't think much gets changed around here based on one guy's opinion, so if there's data to support higher G-tolerance due to "pucker factor," let's get Pyro a copy so he can justify doing it.

If not, I bet he's got a bit of data on the phenomenon already, and I think most guys' dislike of the phenomenon stems from what they're used to from other sims, despite the fact that AH probably does the best job of simulating this of any online sim so far.  The ability to actually "modulate" your tunnel vision and even vary your G-pull using visual cues is a nice feature, and makes up for the lack of being able to "feel" the G's a bit.  It's important to get the actual G numbers right of course, but I don't see Pyro doing it just because you or I say the number should be X.

As I said in the other thread, we have been talking about making improvements to the effect and will take a look at it again when we get some time.
