What's it's name?

Okay, remember that one plane that was made by either Georing or Rommel, somebody, (no, wait, it started with a Ta- prefix... hrm..)
to immitate the Mosquito?

It was a high-wing design specifically built for the use of wood, rather than metal (since metal was harder to work with and also more scarce). It had twin engines in wing-pods, tricycle landing gear, and was supposed to operate really well? I don't know if any got into combat, but there were some built. In fact, though, it was taken out of production becuase the Allies bombed a certain cuty that had a glue factory in it.

This glue/resin was used exclusively in the production of this fighters, which used wood, not metal. Another type of glue/resin was tried, but it turned out that it was slowly eating away at the wood. Several planes practically disintegrated in mid air because of this. This shut down production of the craft, since there was no alternative glue, and it was later in the war and resources were scarce.

Was it the TA-163? Something?

And, that reminds me: What about the Salamander? The craft that was too advanced for its pilots to fly? (Or was that 163, as in He-163? Whatever)

I know my LW planes, I just forget the numbers

The "whatever-its-called" plane would be cool to have in AH. Its wood structure would allow it to absorb punishment (or be destroyed with luck shots :P) and still be a contender. It would be more balanced than an uber-fighter. Like a Ki-41 (42? 44? whatever), performs good, but can't take a beating.

You're thinking of the Ta-154 'Moskito' (yep, they even named it after the Brit version).

Armed with two 30mm and two 20mm cannon, it would have been a potent adversary in the air.

Apparently, these aircraft had a high speed problem, in that the planes would literally come apart in mid-air.  It was discovered that the glue used to put the aircraft together had too high an acid content, leading to sudden and spectacular  structural failure in flight.

Hmm, not unlike the fuel in the Komet; of course in that case, the pilot came apart in mid-air, not the aircraft.

..and the "Salamander"

The plane too 'unstable' for it's Hitler Youth to fly...

Not "too advanced".

The Do-135 I think. The "Arrow".

It achieved good speed because it had 2 engines, both along the centerline. One fore, one aft.

I don't think many saw action, though.

Also, regarding the "Moskito", the reason it came apart in midair and the glue had too high an acidity is because the original glue was no longer available (that huge bombing raid I mentioned flattened the factory).

So, if it HAD had the proper glue, it would've been a bad-ass fighter
