Auto score selection
« on: May 02, 2010, 10:37:09 PM »
I think it would be awesome if instead of having to select attack or fighter or bomber in some cases, that at the end of your flight the game decided for you.

For example when i up fighter sortie, and kill an m3 or a ack i get nothing for it, same as upping a b26 as bomber taking out a cv and getting 2 deck kills, those kills did nothing for my score. So instead, having the game calculate what score category would be most beneficial to the sortie that you just completed.

even if it was an option you could toggle, so if you wanted to keep it a manual selection you could.

let me know what you think <S>

Amen. On a side note, I find it hillarious when some anonymous nut tries to tell me I'm a sucky fighter pilot (I already know this), and brings up my  rank  and my  score . They usually choose to overlook the little amount I play each tour.

I don't have a problem with my score, its usually under 300 and under 200 alot. All i was saying is you never know what you're gonna encounter on a run, so i think having an auto score system would be helpful. I remember when i was pretty new i was attacking a town and i asked a friendly N1K if he could give me a hand, there were 10 buildings up and troops were almost in town. His response was "Sorry bro i'm on fighter score." lol needless to say i was pretty steamed at the time.

anyway was just a suggestion

And how exactly does it score a mission that you take off, fly around, hit nothing and land?

Never thought about that tbh, i would think it would be loadout generated in that case, light fighter= fighter, heavy fighter= attack, bomber=bomber. not that i have any clue how feesable that would be to code.

Yes, but if the intent of the sortie was to strafe, chances are you wouldn't fly around hit nothing and land. If i was out to get a radar, deack, or kill a town, chances are even if i didn't take anything out i would register some sort of damage with a bullet or 2. Which i think would be enough for the score system to select an appropriate category.

Now as far as making this come to fruition, I have no clue what it would take. So HiTech if this is an unrealistic wish, let me know.

that's what i was going to ask, eny got high the other day and we had no ord at a particular field. So I took a F4U-1 with no bombs to strafe ord and ack, that run would be scored as fighter if i based on loadout. The way it works now is just fine for me.
