Actually, is damage to your enemy taken from your FE??? I've passed enemies, and then I hear damage sounds and lose control surfaces when they are 600yds PAST me on my FE. The only difference is in planes colliding on FE. If it only happens on your FE, your plane gets crunched, but the other guy is fine. I have this happen several times. Actually, on one of the 600yd past things, the guy must have shot me then rammed me! I didn't film it, but from recollection (yeah, not the right thing to do, but anyways)... from my FE perspective, it's a nose-nose merge, and to avoid the HO I went low and to the right (the opponent's left). I look 6 to see what he's gonna do, and about 600yds, I start getting lit up! I switch back to fwd view to try, assess damage and try to recover. no luck, I'm on fire with a wing gone. I whine on squad channel, and see a WTG! message. I expand the radio buffer and sure enough, I have a kill rewarded! I never fired a shot at him, and avoided him on my FE. So as far as I can figure, on his FE, he went for the HO, shot me up, but hit my plane in the process, killing himself. I hit the ground and just get a You have been killed. message. no XXXXX shot you down.
So, it looks like damage to enemies from your gunfire is calculated on your side (makes sense) but damage to enemies from collisions isn't calculated on your side (also makes sense.) From this, the M3 was taking some hits, and MrLars said as much. He was taking damage. The problem seems to be in the fact that the M3 is a beastly little transport, while the Osti track is put together with the same stuff as a P38 tail!
