B-26 WEP key still thinks it's working
« on: May 11, 2010, 01:35:39 PM »
B-26 WEP key still works. Or, thinks it does.

There's no boost in MAP, RPM, or fuel consumption, but when WEP is toggled, the MAP sticks to the end. If you try throttling back it has this 4" to 5" buffer zone before it drops (so it goes from 55" to 50/51") then once the WEP is "off" you can set it wherever you want once again. In planes with WEP you see the same thing, you can throttle down to turn WEP off, but you need to throttle back past a certain threshold for it to kick off. I hope I'm describing that clearly enough.

Must be left-over code from when the B-26 had WEP.

The same thing happens with the IL-2.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

I actually had some genuine WEP in B26s a coupla weeks ago, climbing out at about 5-6k i just pushed my throttle to the end stop to make sure I was on full power then suddenly i got WEP (I have P mapped to the end of the throttle travel). higher rpm/manifold, engine sound and better climbrate. strangest thing, left it for 20s or so to check it, then toggled the P button but it didnt come back on :headscratch:

yup, engine off on the lower detent and WEP on the top detent to similate the gate/wire, works great and saves 2 throttle buttons to map to something else :aok

someone (mtnman?) posted a guide to setting it up, I cant find it though.

edit: found it! it was mace:

Fixed! Changelog mentions B-26 and Il-2 both.
