It simply doesn't work that way. The headphones are technically one sound device and the speakers another. You can't split a single signal to go to 2 separate sound devices.

Says who? I've been running mine that way for years.

This is what I posted in General Discussion on this :

I'm thinking this will let them change some things that they've been wanting to do but couldn't due to limitations with the old sound engine? Some things I think going to Miles will allow them to do (not saying this is what they WANT to do) :
-- Separate Vox from Game Sounds (i.e. Vox in headset, game over speakers, if desired)
-- Ability to change the tone/reverb of sounds based upon if engine is attached to aircraft, attached to a different aircraft, inside cockpit or outside, all without recording separate sound files
 -- Possible Doppler Shift effect
-- Possibility to integrate an MP3 player?
-- As a permanent fix for the occasional Vox dropouts (is this even still happening? Last I remember was like 2-3 years ago)
-- Support for sound file types other than mono-WAV files, which likely can help improve aural quality while reducing file size

I'll freely admit I could be wrong on this, but I think Miles will help them with some of this.

If they can get the Miles system to work, it's going to open up a whole new set of possibilities...I just hope it's the Miles3d system even though it used to cause problems a few years ago...looks like there have been some major revisions and a lot of the crap has been cleaned up.
