Phalanx Ack Systems and My Thoughts on This roadkill

OK...

I know I know give them a chance to upgrade the game and all that, but I feel I have waited as long as I'm going to wait. I ASKED the powers a that be a long time ago, why do we have this lazer guided ack system in here and WHY do we bother to have the option to put bombs on a fighter aircraft? As they are as useless as TIT's on a boarhog! I was told that when we get 1/2 tracks so we could defend our bases ourselves the ack would be toned down. WELL?
When is this going to happen? Since I came to this SIM from WB's I have been waiting and waiting to be able to JABO again. Well getting tired of waiting. I really enjoy the the feeling of diveing on a target, watching my speed, watching all the "little" things you have to, to get a feel for so you can put an egg right down the throat of a Panzer. I enjoy takeing out a gun position at a base before it takes me out about a mile from the base.I ENJOY bombing from a Fighter aircraft!!! I would like to be able to use the same aircraft to hit a base and make a diffrence. Otherwise just take the bombs out of hanger options as we will never need or use them! I hope enough of you guys mirror my thoughts on this. Maybe....just maybe they will pay heed and open up a total new rehlm to the newbies in this SIM that have never learned how to put a 500lbs bomb within a 5' radius of a target. As for this Oldtimer...... I gotta have my JABO, If I cant get it here I will go where ever I have to to get it.

I'd say rant mode off but you guys know me better.....at least the one's from WB's

LLBM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ack was probably knocked out by fighters a thousand times tonight.

Most bishops did not take off without ordinance.

I witnessed ack killed without ordinance (strafed) several dozen times.

I hit either ack, vehicle, or other structure well over 100 times tonight with bombs and/or rockets.

LLBM I agree it still seems a little too accurate.

However I was able to kill 2 acks tonight and I only died once.  For me that is an amazing record.

The bottom line is that AI sucks.  No matter how you do the AI, it is subject to criticism.  The solution is to get rid of all the AI acks.  If a country wants AAA they need to grab M-16's (or go to fixed ack positions if HTC makes it possible) and start shooting!

FWIW I tried to go after the ack in offline mode and personally found it *considerably* less accurate than in the previous version.

I found it did not track me as easily and I found it easier to make some moves and keep away, even with the increased number of acks.

The only time I had a problem was when I made a beeline for the acks and did not jink much at all.

Not to be argumentative, it's just what I observed.

Tsk tsk tsk...Ack is WONDERFUL now...and I was JABO-ing all night long last nite, first with 190, then with tiffie and last wieh F4U1. I have a film of the last sortie, with the corsair,in with I divebomb one ack when the other still fires at me, then I divebomb a tank, also between the fire of the untouched ack, and then, still with ack near,I destroyed 1 tank and 1 M16, getting 2 assists, too.

Yes, I was touched some times...but I heard more than 5 pings before any noticeable damage (in 1.1 2 pings and SOMETHING would be broken), and I managed to avoid much easier...Ack is well modelled now IMHO

Ilbm, Learn to avoid ack, learn to jabo...then you'll be able to Jabo...if an inutil pilot like me can Jabo an ack-up base then ANYONE can do it!  ...and please...put the rant mode off...thks

Seriously ,when near ack, try jinking continuosly, it is the best way to confuse it...Hey! I even managed to down an ack with rockets in a Typhoon!!!

llbm,

I flew a single jabo sortie last night with 1000#ers and rockets in a P-38.  I targeted one of the Rooks vehicle parks.  On the first pass I hit and destroyed the "hanger".  I then found out that in the new version that both bombs don't drop automatically and damn near spun er in when that 1000lbs on one wing droped and the 1000lbs on the other wing was still there    By the way WTG HTC on the modeling of asymetric drag and weight!  My second pass killed one of the acks and this was when I was very slow after reversing with that one 1000#er still attached.
The ack finall did get me on my attack with the rockets as I never really extended and came around still within range of the ack and gave it a good while to track me.  Sorry but I have to disagree with you, I think ack is perfect now.
