Whether here or possible "Bug Report"

Been taking some discos as of late.  Haven't thought much about them until last night.  3 of 3 times while landing, on final approach, as soon as I dropped flaps "Disco".  Screen shrinks, mouse (curser) freezes.  I also noticed each time, the sound of deploying flaps started out normal, then a screeching sound....just prior to disco.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

remove the flap sound you are using if you are using a custom sound pack. One pack had a bad flap sound that caused a crash in the game when used.

I may have found the problem.  My stupid butt hasn't bothered with driver updates for like 2 years (DUH!), specifically the sound card.  Did the video updates maybe 6 months ago, even then there where updates.  Sound card.........I ended up downloading like 350 M of updates (DUH again!! lol).  Went to TA to check and no discos.  Will hit MA in bit to test.

lol...yea, shame on me Bro.  Everyone tells me I need to constantly check for upgrades...and I forget    Just logged off MA for the past 4 hours and no discos since my sorry butt did the upgrades on all drivers lol.  Too blamen stupid when it comes to puters, figure they should be smarter than me lol.

Oh well, this thread dosen't fit into "bugs", nor does it fit into "Tech Support", it fits into "Dweebs Are Us", lmao!!

Actually, I think what he was surprised at was HOW BIG those sound drivers are!  I'd be willing to bet that you also downloaded (and installed) a lot of software along with those drivers.. software that you probably don't need nor will ever use.

I'm curious as to how clogged up your system is.  Hey.. just to satisfy our curiousity, do this.  Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and let us know how many processes are running (at the bottom of the window... you might have to click on "Task Manager".  Also a DXDIAG report would be awesome too.  XP click on START-RUN then type in DXDIAG.  VISTA/7 type in DXDIAG into the search box in the start menu.  Wait for it to finish its thing then click on SAVE ALL INFORMATION and save it to the desktop.

Then open up that file and copy/paste it here.

71 processes running.  However, I do use "Game Booster" to automatically shut down background prior to logging on.  Couldn't print entire page of info too many characters (exceeded 10000 max).  Let me know if there's something specific you'd like to see.

I have your sound card also - SB X-Fi and an NVIDIA GTX275.

With the 2.19 game release I was having game executable system errors, video errors and loss of button usage on my controllers. This would all happen during heavy VOX sound playback. I updated to the SB 6.00.0001.1373 drivers and the issues went away.

Maybe Skuzzy should start acting like Microsoft first level support when we have issues. "Call back when you have updated all OS, system, and hardware drivers to the latest"........

Hrmm.. a system quite comparable to mine... basically same graphics... my processor is a bit faster but yours is quad core... I don't have a sound card though...

I was as surprised as Chalenge... 350MB for SOUND CARD DRIVERS is absolutely ridiculous though.. and driver updates aren't cumulative... in other words.. updating after 3 years should not be a bigger file than after 2 months...

71 processes is also ridiculous.  You have a HUGE AMOUNT of crud running in the background.  Heck my Win7 only has 41 processes running right now, and that includes my browser, trackir, saitek software, antivirus, AND my USB sound utility program!  You can definitely improve your gameplay (and computing) experiences by trimming these way down.  Do some research here.. there's also gamebooster, fsautostart, and lots of stuff on blackviper.com that can help.

Yea, Tigger I use gamebooster now.  When activated it shuts everything down that is not needed.  The updates is what was needed.  Been online several times now testing and everything seems to be ok.  Put it to the ultimate test by changing screen resolution to 1680 x 1050, and downloading the high resolution package.  OMG can't believe the difference    Took about a 2 frame rate hit, and that was with all the background up and running.
