frig it...here's my big idea that I have been wanting to disclose to HT for months.........although I don't know how to get a hold of him:

these cam sites are popping up all over the internet.......where they provide anyone the opportunity to set up their own dedicated channel....and broadcast........for free.  it even comes with a chat room .....the ability to add links and content.......

and yes...businesses are using these free resources as marketing tools...and so should you guys.  (there are a plethora of gamers who frequent these sites)

if there was a way for you guys to broadcasts the a live video/audio feed of Aces High...it would be a potential gold mine in potential new customers....

I do not recall ever seeing anything from you that pertained to solving the problem of filling two arenas to levels when both are fun to play in.

That TV thing does not solve the problem.  HiTech can be reached many ways.  Call him (817-251-1540), PM him on the bulletin board.

I just asked for his contact info......and mentioned free advertising.

the larger issue......is the definition of "fun to play in"...which seems to mean two succinctly different things to everyone here.  it seems to be predicated on less people or more people.

Actually there a minimum and a maximum where the arenas are fun to play in.  The goal of the dynamic arena configuration is to get the minimum as fast as possible.  It is a critical mass issue.

My guess is they just won the war in blue and dumped everyone. Give it 10-15 minutes and it will stabilize again.
Nope, thats how the people flocked today.

I'm sure he's comparing it to other work/school days as well as Tuesday before they were Titanical.  Make it Womptastic Wednesday and Wednesday's numbers will go down.

wrongway

thats funny and likely inaccurate considering AH had equal numbers prior to the caps. peak times back then (Fri and sat night) were 500-600+ on par with what we have now and sometimes over 700 when rooks had their weekly squad night.

I know HT posted numbers that says the game has grown much since but i have a good memory and honestly dont see that much a difference. If there has been growth its been minimal.

i personally thought the caps were for 2 reasons. 1 back then there were more small maps and the lag with 500+ on a small map could get pretty bad. 2 to give a losing country or country with bad numbers an alternate to getting horded by the bish/nit hordes. Back then the noobs all joined either bish or nit since they always had numbers compared to rooks who only had numbers that 1 day a week.

+10000000

Its like Aces High hell being traped in EW, MW, or LWB, when all have either very few players on, or are running a map that isn't very conductive to fights.

And Skuzzy, I'd agree with the minimum and maximum thing. But on large maps the minimum is around 150-200 IMO. There just aren't enough people to cover all that ground, and that leads to lots of base sneaks, wich can lead to getting flanked out so to speak (multiple GV spawns into the same base, and several good sized fights means not all those spawns will be covered. and THAT means that an M3 will eventually get troops into the maproom.)

And forgive me if this breaks some unspoken rule, but seeing as HTC is a company, wouldn't it be good for profits, and therefor good for the company, to get as many people playing as possible? If there is nothing fun going on, then I just log.

I generally agree, but imo the minimum and maximum values vary based on the size of the map.  Smaller maps will require less players but will degrade quicker.  Large maps, the opposite.  Since the orange and blue map rotations are seemingly random in that there is no code set to make sure there is always a small and large map in rotation, it doesn't seem you guys have taken this point into consideration.

You don't need a second arena if you want to force people to log off.  If that was the case, why waste resources?  Just have one capped arena.  Either you're in or you're not.

Second arena = somewhere else to go.

here we go again......
I for one am happy to have a second choice six days a week and i am also a fan of TT most of the time :aok
that second choice is not always what i want but i try to make the best of it.

I can't see the point of getting pizzd about a capped arena, just wait a few minutes and it usually changes.
i think we all want the same thing here, the game to be fun for everyone, for me i have to find ways to keep it fun so the fact that an arena is capped every once and a while is low on the list of complaints i would have today.

that is all

Didn't one of 'em at HTC say that the servers they use could handle 10,000 players?

And when you complain about lag and FPS i will be your fault

Why do WE need a solution if YOU hate something.  If you can't get into a arena and refuse to go to another, just find something else to do dude. I mean really. Does someone have to cry about this stupid watermelon every other week?!

Go out and mow the lawn, clean the house, do the dishes, defrag your computer, clean the inside of it, go fishing, walk the dog, play cards, roll a doobie, clean the gutters out, give the dog a bath, read a book, WASH THE VAN ....surely you have something else to do.

You know some of the guys on this board are as bad as my children.

Fixed! :aok Sorry... couldn't resist.

I would be "in" for hi-cap weekends. As frustrating as the "cap" is at times... we play on. :joystick:

BTW... Dad? I could use a bigger allowance.

X :salute

honestly...and being as candid as I can be.....I've sent numerous messages to you regarding me getting in touch with HT about a wonderful Idea of have to attract hundreds of new members (paying customers)........for free..at no cost to HT.  all have since been ignored.  I took that as "we're not interested".

on the other stuff...I get that the current methodology is the status quo.  I'm just still hoping it's changed.

Maybe your ideas weren't any good and HiTech and crew were just being polite instead of laughing at your ideas.  Well, they probably did laugh at them but they were polite enough to not do it in your face.
