mouse wont work

..after quitting an arena my mouse wont work to choose another arena. Ihave to alt-f4 and re-boot to choose a different arena.

Hi all,

Installed the latest version - skipped the .3 - and all worked fine, sounds, windows, frame rates, all fine. Only two things happened that made me feel I should report.

One was this mouse lockup on exiting an arena. Completely froze up, had to Alt+F4 for the first time in my life.

The weird one was in middle of playing AH: suddenly, the game minimized and I stood before a message window in my desktop about something called "Magnifier" asking me to do some action. First time I ever saw it and it had 3 checkboxes and was saying something like my keyboard was not connected etc. In the bottom, it had a cancel button, I clicked it and it simply disapeared. Clicked on the minimized AH window in the taskbar and POP! there I was climbing in my Lend-Lease P40!...

Weird hey? What is the "Magnifier"?

Mouse works fine initially, when I exit arena it locks ups.

A few questions for you guys having this problem.

When you are in this condition -

1-  Is your AH mouse cursor frozen of missing?

2- Is your frame rate showing 0?

3- Do you get a windows mouse cursor outside of the AH window?  If so, does anything change if you click on the minimize button and then maximize it again?

No, my cursor isn't "missing", it sits just below the clipboard and "disappears" while trying to move it then re-appears when you stop having never mopved. Frame rate of 35 (which is good for my system).

I am able to minimize with alt-tab, which free's up my mouse, which freezes up again on the clipboard screen when I go back.

P.S. I right clicked on AH tab while it was minimized and was unable to effectively click any options.

No, the mouse doesnt actually move, and i dont use it to fly.

I have this same issue but can use cntrl-alt-del to open the task manager and close aces that way so as to avoid the hassle of rebooting.

I just rechecked things and found something out that seems strange to me.

Firstly to answer your questions Hitech, the pointer is present but won't move and just blinks when moving the mouse around. You can't move it outside of the window either unless you hit the windows key, then it moves around but it does not seem to recognize the AH window after that. FPS was a 60 before this occurred and after.

The part that seems weird is everything works fine when I boot  AH without using the FSAutostart but then has problem again if I use game with it. It also looks as though the window never fully loads. There is no mnimize/maximize/close button any longer, like there is when first starting the game.

I have a pic of what the window looks like after leaving arena and I will get that p as soon as I can get it uploaded.

dkff49, can you try sizing your the window the first time it comes up? And then see if it changes things when you exit the arena?

Also can  you minimize and restore from the task bar?

I resized the opening dialog (maximized it actually) then logged into the main.

When I quit the opening dialog came back at its original size and the mouse was visible and frozen. I used ALT f4 to kill Ah and am now posting this.
