T-34/85
« on: May 28, 2010, 06:56:00 PM »
I googled it and found that there were around 80,000 built of the T34/76 and the T34/85.However if that's so why would the T85 have the perk price its currently carrying, sure it has an 85mm but it also has a paper turret. So I'm wondering why its even perked at all?

Production numbers have no influence on perk status in Aces High.

Really? Then I must ask why is the tiger so highly priced the Firefly's gun beat the L/56 by a long shot, not only that if production doesn't effect the perk price then why was the Firefly's price raised?

Well 25 tons of steel doing 25mph with a 76.2mm QF 17lbr.
Tiger 45 tons of steel with an L/56 doing 23.6 mph.

Now their gun performance,Yes worth a price but by far what we pay for them.

Its a good tank. Particularly with the way its armour is modeled in the game.

The issue is, and I also agree, the T34x has a turret made of cheese.  I've read no where on any T34 model having weak frontal turret armor.

Do not drag the ENY of the Tiger and Firefly into the issues of the T34/85mm.  The T34/85 is perked because it is fast, has a good gun, and very good armor ('cept for frontal turret).

Could it be a shell trap effect from the rounded front?  (Dunno - speculating).

Let me make this very easy.  If the T-34/85 wasn't perked would you ever take a Panzer over the T-34/85?  I know I wouldn't.

Why take a Panzer IV H over the M4A3(76)?

Does the Panzer IV H have some reason to be the top tank?  How about the M4A3(76)?  That has a better K/D ratio than the T-34/85 and is free.

Unless the T-34/85 is superior it should not be perked.  If the Panzer IV H is inferior to the T-34/85 and M4A3(76) the reasons to take it would be one of the following: 1) you like the Panzer IV H better 2) you want to earn more vehicle perks per kill, but find the guns on the T-34/76 and M4A3(75) too weak and 3) due to ENY limitations you can't take the T-34/85 or M4A3(76).

Those are, you will note, the same reasons somebody might take a P-40E instead of a P-51D.

If the T-34/85's turret wasn't so weak, I'd have no issue with it being perked.

If production numbers would have influence on perk price, the TA 152, Wirbelwind & Ostwind prices would go through the roof...
